Its a small primitive ornithopod, lightly built with quite short forelimbs and long hindlimbs, its skull short but high, with numerous leaf-like teeth on the jaws. Its orbit is divided into two openings by a bone called palpebral. It was a bipedal fast runner which usually lived on shores of rivers or plains and fed on tender plants. The well-preserved skeleton is about 2m long with over 90% bones articulated. It is the most complete small ornithopod so far as known in China or even in the world.
